Vascular insufficiency remains the most common—and most misunderstood—driver of wound failure. This episode moves beyond oversimplified ABI cutoffs to examine true tissue perfusion, hemodynamics, and the realities of microcirculatory disease that undermine healing even when “tests look normal.”

Participants will learn how to interpret ABI, TBI, toe pressures, TcPO₂, duplex findings, and emerging microvascular assessments within real-world clinical contexts, including diabetes, renal disease, calcification, and advanced age. The discussion emphasizes pattern recognition over single numbers, helping clinicians avoid false reassurance and delayed referrals.

This program equips wound professionals to speak the same language as vascular specialists, advocate effectively for patients, and determine when revascularization, offloading, oxygenation, or palliative strategies are most appropriate.
